How does your
media product represent particular social groups?In our project we have two character, which are male and female. The male is hidden and we don't actually see their face and the one in power at this moment. He is in black clothes and looks scary. The woman is in white clothes and not in power. She looks like she is scared of the man. Theses representations are normal in the horror genre as there is mostly a damsel in distress. We have shown these representations by the way we have shot our opening sequence, how we have use props and body language with our actors for example there is a shot of the man and you can barely see them showing that you should fear him as you always fear what you can't see it is also a high angle shot so it is also showing his power over the women. For the woman we have a show of her looking vulnerable. We did this by making the actor have a closed body language and shown them bound to chairs.
